Supersavers from Nokia

At the Growing Together 2008 conference held in Johannesburg, South Africa, Nokia revealed four new products for emerging markets. The devices are expected to be in the price range from EUR 50 to EUR 90, before applicable taxes or subsidies.

The Nokia 5000 offers a 1.3 megapixel camera, a large QVGA display and is Nokia's first megapixel cameraphone at this price point. It also features music and email capabilities, FM radio with recording functionality, MP3 ringtones and more. The 5000 also supports Nokia Xpress Audio Messaging, Bluetooth and GPRS connectivity. The Nokia 5000 is expected to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2008 with an estimated retail price of EUR 90, before subsidies and taxes.

"People in emerging markets like Africa are increasingly demanding more from their mobile phone - their expectations and demands in terms of functionality and design are similar to people in any other part of the world - they simply have less income at their disposal," says Alex Lambeek, Vice President, Entry, who oversees Nokia's efforts in emerging markets. "From the introduction of Nokia's most affordable megapixel camera phone, to a localized email solution in South Africa, we believe today's announcements demonstrate Nokia's firm commitment to bringing products and services that serve the varied needs and tastes of people in emerging markets."

Nokia's first slide device for entry markets, the Nokia 2680 slide, is a slim camera phone that offers a balance of ease of use and entertainment functionality, including an FM radio with recording capability and MP3 ringtones, and core mobile phone features such as an expanded phone book.

It features an integrated digital camera and is expected to begin shipping in the third quarter of 2008 with estimated retail price of EUR 75 before subsidies and taxes.

The Nokia 7070 Prism offers personalized content, including themes and wallpapers, and MP3-grade ringtones. It features a voice recorder and integrated hands-free speaker and is expected to begin shipping in the third quarter of 2008 with estimated retail price of EUR 50 before subsidies and taxes.

The Nokia 1680 Classic offers essential mobile phone functionality with the added benefits of a basic digital camera. The phone with VGA camera and video recording features one-touch access for photos and videos. It also offers phone sharing functionality and easy access to email. The Nokia 1680 classic is expected to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2008 with an estimated retail price of EUR 50 before subsidies and taxes.

Comparison of Nokia 7500 and Nokia 7900 Features

The world of Nokia Mobile Phones is so huge and vast. They create perfect mobile pieces according to the needs of their users. Frankly speaking, Nokia mobile phones are very much impressive and reliable. They all are filled with superb and all the latest technologies. I am a great fan of Nokia mobiles and like them very much. Last week, I went to a Nokia PriorityCenter to buy a perfect piece of Nokia for me. There, I found two handsets named Nokia 7500 and Nokia 7900 that captured my attention at once.

Both of the phones belong to the Prism family of Nokia. The Nokia 7500 is a Tri-Band GSM mobile phone with a 16M TFT Colour screen integrated in it. A 2MP camera, music player, video player and the connectivity options like GPRS,HSCSD, EDGE, Bluetooth and USB add to the flawless perfection to this handset. Whereas the Nokia 7900 is a 3G enabled Quad-Band GSM mobile phone that comes with an integrated 16M ColoursOLED Screen, a 2MP Camera, music player, video player, and connectivity options like GPRS, EDGE, HSCSD, 3G, Bluetooth, and USB that add more worth to this handset.

Both of the devices are almost the same in size, colour, appearance, and presentation. However, the only difference between both of these devices is that the Nokia 7900 is a 3G enabled phone withOLED screen and 1GB of internal memory with no external memory support. Whereas the Nokia 7500 is not 3G enabled and uses TFT screen but supports memory cards as its external memory with the internal memory of 30MB. Friends, now I am in dilemma that which one to buy and which one to refuse. Please help me in finding the perfect Nokia Prism for me.

Nokia N95 8GB

Bulky by today’s standards the Nokia N95 8GB is a wonderfully functional device that exemplifies the phrase all-in-one.it looks slightly dated now, but the mix of rubberized black rear finish and the glossy black front finish still grabs attention, as does the beautiful crisp 2.8 inch screen and the unique 2-way slider. The front chrome buttons atop the front add a very PDA-like feeling, but unfortunately the large, gorgeous screen isn’t touch capable. The menu button and the keypad layout is  very good, and with a load of shortcut keys the N95 8GB is very ergonomic. With features like built in GPS and support for Nokia Maps, and a built-in 8 GB of storage, in addition to goodies like WiFi and a 5 megapixel camera this phone has something for everyone.

Amongst our complaints and suggestion for improvements are a slightly larger screen 3.2 inch a better battery, touch screen, and a Xenon flash for a camera, and the slider mechanism from the Nokia’s Sirocco series. And can be a little slimmer? And can we get more than 8 GB of storage?
